Art In Public Places
The Riverside Arts Council has expanded its art in public spaces series to the Riverside Plaza with the Riverside Arts Project. This new gallery features rotating exhibits put together by guest curators from arts organizations and educational institutions. The benefits of the project include building connectivity between a diverse array of organizations and a new audience base. It also brings art into a non-traditional space, making it accessible to a broader population.
The mission of the Riverside Arts Council is to Promote, Develop, Support and Sustain the Arts. The Riverside Arts Council promotes the cultural life of the communities it serves through leadership in education, financial aid and technical assistance to a broad range of visual and performing arts organizations and individual artists. In addition the Arts Council serves as a conduit between the Arts and the diverse segments of the population and forms and forms partnerships with schools, community groups, public and private agencies to ensure that all arts are accessible to residents of all ages. Through innovative partnerships in arts education, outreach, grant making and other programs, the Arts Council works to foster an appreciation for the contribution of the arts to the growth, posterity, and quality of life throughout the City and County of Riverside.
